Pineau des Charentes

6 products

An alliance of fresh grape juice and cognac brandy, Pineau des Charentes can only be made during the harvest period. The addition of cognac brandy to the grape juice prevents fermentation; Pineau des Charentes is therefore not a COOKED WINE (Banyuls), nor a FORTIFIED WINE (Port). Its sweetness is naturally brought by the grape juice. There is no sulphur added in Michel Forgeron's Pineau des Charentes.

After elaboration, Michel Forgeron Pineau des Charentes is aged in oak barrels for at least 3 years (legal minimum: 1 year) in order to reach the necessary maturity.

Pineau des Charentes Michel Forgeron is the result of a blend of several harvests that have aged between 3 and 7 years for the WHITE PINEAU and RED PINEAU; 10 to 15 years for the OLD WHITE PINEAU.
